Inspired by the confluence of desert and sea, Perkins Eastman’s design for the Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC)’s new onshore processing plant includes four buildings, each mimicking the angular, sloping convergence of the Emirates’ desert landscape and the Persian Gulf beyond it. The plant includes an administrative building and training center, a stand-alone mosque, a control building, and Critical Infrastructure and Coastal Protection Authority (CICPA) gateway terminal building. By integrating open-air courtyards, shaded outdoor spaces, and indoor open breakout spaces throughout these meticulously crafted and clean geometries, ADNOC’s new campus proposes a holistic, innovative workplace that makes the most of a spectacular site.
