Emily’s focus on building equitable, healthy communities stems from her upbringing as the only child of a single mother and as a member of the LGBTQ community. She brought her fierce advocacy for marginalized voices and inclusive design to Perkins Eastman in 2016, and has an additional 15 years of experience in planning, architecture, and design in the Washington, DC, region. As our PEople Culture Manager, Emily leads our firmwide Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DE&I) Initiative and works with our studios to shape our Human by Design culture. Emily focuses her design work in the Senior Living practice area where she works with clients to shape the vision of the project through strategic master planning and goal setting.
