Fairmont Giza

Giza, Egypt

Where the architecture and interiors are all designed to frame the great Pyramids of Giza.

Designed as the crown jewel of the retail plaza in the new Sun Capital mixed-use development in Giza, The Fairmont will be the first hotel built in more than half a century to enjoy direct views of the pyramids. With such a special designation, the Perkins Eastman team, working with ForrestPerkins, a distinct Perkins Eastman Studio, sought to create a destination that captures this ancient setting within a new, modern and urban context. The architecture and interior design are geared toward the priceless view, so nearly every one of the hotel’s 250 rooms has a direct sight line toward the pyramids. The soft, contemporary design doesn’t mimic history, but is respectful of the site, where the material palette includes native limestone and granite.

The hotel includes a rooftop Presidential Suite in addition to a 5-star restaurant and lounge, and its lower levels include one of the largest hotel ballrooms in Egypt. The development also features three hundred residences and a destination wellness center and spa. The Fairmont’s tiered, landscaped terraces form a gently angled courtyard around pools and fountains that extend out through the shops and restaurants lining Sun Plaza, steering the gaze toward the Wonders of the World. The result is a strong sense of place—a modern celebration of Giza’s world-famous antiquities.
