ForrestPerkins, a distinct studio of Perkins Eastman
ForrestPerkins served as Architect of Record for the expansion of The Joule, a luxury hotel in downtown Dallas that anchors the revitalized retail and dining center on Main Street in concert with the flagship Neiman Marcus store, which shares the city block with The Joule.
Neo-Gothic architecture is just one of the unique characteristics of this true jewel of Dallas. Throughout the Joule are bold statements and hidden breathtaking moments, including the seventy pieces of reclaimed mosaic work by Mid-Century artist Millard Sheets. The large-scale mosaic works were saved by Headington from the demolishing of the Mercantile Building in 2012.
The expansion incorporated three historic buildings, a new-build connector joining the original hotel with its nine-story expansion accommodating a new spa underground, CBD Provisions restaurant is a Modern Texas Brasserie on the ground floor, an expanded ballroom on the second floor, the Midnight Rambler, a hidden underground speakeasy with an intimate setting and award-winning cocktails and an event pavilion on the roof. The Joule is a luxury stay well worth experiencing from the rooftop bar, unique dining, or relaxing at the spa.
