Located in the center of the multifaceted innovation district in the Fountain Park area of Rock Hill, the Arts Center at Fountain Park promises to be the premier innovative arts center for the performing arts, arts education, and entertainment for York, Lancaster, and Chester counties and beyond in South Carolina. The center is seen as the spark to ignite the commercially zoned area around the new public park. The first phase of the project will include a 500-seat multipurpose theater and support spaces, designed to accommodate local performances and touring shows. Schematic design was scheduled to begin in May, 2024, following the pre-design and programming phase, during which community input is solicited through a series of workshops and fundraising efforts. The first engagement meeting in April reviewed initial design concepts and determined a completion date of October, 2026.
