Located on the south shore of beautiful Yan Xi Lake, Wuhan Chuyuan’s residential campus is surrounded by nature. Its owner entrusted Perkins Eastman with the master planning and architectural design of this CCRC community for seniors of all ages and conditions; the plan includes a 100-bed secondary rehabilitation hospital; a central clubhouse, 681 independent living apartments; 80 skilled nursing units, including hospice care; and 17 memory-care units.
The overall planning conforms to the site’s natural topography, with low-density buildings that connect to a landscaped belt road that runs along the lake. The clubhouse is located in the heart of the property, connecting to a lakeside promenade and water platform. Each residential group cluster provides a courtyard for residents to enjoy daily activities and social interaction, and also provides space for phased development. The lakeside promenade, in turn, connects to internal walking systems through the campus, forming a connection between the property and its surrounding environment.
