This innovative two-story building is the first facility on a new campus that promotes partnerships with the local community. It incorporates advanced technology and connectivity with flexible classrooms that are visually on display to the rest of the campus. Outdoor learning areas take advantage of the year-round temperate weather; promoting student collaboration and interaction with the rest of the campus. The signature feature of the building is the outdoor room concept. Envisioned as a “living room” for students, faculty and community; the interior opens to this space as the labs filter through the collaborative interior venues out into the open air forum. The high bay labs are organized into a wing on the east side of the facility to create one edge of the outdoor forum. The collaborative area at the center of this wing “T’s” into the two story wing where a central hub becomes the interior core of activity, heightening the opportunity to “collide” with other students and faculty members. The second floor accommodates a computer lab, Learning Resource Center, classrooms, and administrative offices.
