For their new Technology, Business, Healthcare and Education Complex Project, The Public Authority for Applied Education and Training sought a design that would distinguish the Al Jahra Governate campus from other leading international universities. Perkins Eastman’s design emphasizes people, purpose, and place. The plan brings together cultural heritage and values in a state-of-the-art academic and university experience which also provides the skills students need to serve the current and future workforce demands in Kuwait. The sustainable campus design takes into consideration the demands of Kuwait’s climate and does not heavily rely on energy-intensive technical measures. Creating a new approach to integrated learning and discovery, the team’s design provides a platform for success for PAAET graduates. The architecture of the new campus symbolizes the important exchange of ideas in the worlds of technology, business, and healthcare and is set to become a global model for a new generation of life-long learners.
