Fairfield College Preparatory School (Prep) was founded in 1942 by the Society of Jesus, and serves 800 young men in grades 9-12. Since its inception, Prep has been the region’s premiere Jesuit college prep school. Known as a place of study, with focused attention on collaboration and adherence to the traditional Ignatian Pedagogical Paradigm, Jesuits seek to develop responsible ‘men for others,’ teaching academic subjects from a human-centric viewpoint with a focus on discovering patterns, relationships, facts, questions, insights, conclusions, problems, solutions, and what is means to be human.
Within the existing building, students and faculty are provided a purpose-built suite of spaces designed to support the STEM goals of integrating hands on learning, presentations, and discussions in a multi- functional arrangement of open and semi-open spaces. Students are provided a wide variety of rooms for academic lectures, experimentation, and project building. The Innovation Lab provides a flexible space allowing for robot competitions, lectures, video conferences, and social gatherings.
