The completed LEED Silver facility reimagines and redesigns the existing space into an exciting, dynamic hub for nursing students, biology programs, and the natural-history museum that serves local school programs.
The new addition replaces the existing Sequoia Lecture Hall and imitates a sterile corridor in an intensive care unit of a hospital or clinic area. This two-story building features a double-loaded corridor and observation booths. The addition is situated within the existing campus context, connecting thoughtfully to the existing building and creating dynamic outdoor interstitial spaces while providing a state-of-the-art nursing simulation facility. Input from the diverse stakeholder groups utilized various digital and interactive tools, allowing faculty, staff, and facilities representatives to share their thoughts in a creative, fun, and dynamic manner to obtain consensus.
