Working with AvalonBay Communities for more than 20 years, Perkins Eastman designed several residential rental properties in the New York area. On the Queens West waterfront in Long Island City, Avalon Riverview North, a sleek 39-story tower, provides dramatic views of the Manhattan skyline while offering hundreds of apartments and townhouse units as well as commercial space and shared luxury amenities including a fitness center and rooftop pool. Nearby, the Avalon Riverview, a 32-story mixed-use building, features modern apartments and special community areas like a putting green and gazebo. Just outside the city in Westchester County, Avalon White Plains offers 14 stories of apartments and dozens of four-story townhouses as well an outdoor pool, landscaped terrace, garden, children’s play area, fitness center, community room, theater, and 24-hour concierge service. The designs for three buildings at Avalon Yonkers feature verdant courtyards facing the Hudson River and private rooftop decks providing sweeping views of the New York City skyline and Palisades cliffs. Across the river, Avalon Edgewater II is a redesign and reconstruction of an existing apartment building destroyed by a fire in 2015, located just a short ferry ride from the West Side of Manhattan.
