Vijo Cherian

AICP

Associate Principal

“Having grown up in a megacity like Delhi, where one could perceive layers of transformation and planning that took place over centuries, I realized early on that the most walkable, fun, and exciting places, were those that were the smallest, most chaotic, and always felt ‘unplanned.’”

Vijo has lived and worked in some of the densest and most urban cities all his life, and his designs are informed by his love for walking for everyday needs, including his daily walk to work. He brings this pedestrian-centric outlook to all his projects at Perkins Eastman, whether planning for city-wide interventions, creating urban districts, or designing individual structures. His practice area, both domestic and international, includes urban-health facilities, new live-work environments, town centers, waterfront developments, downtown revitalizations, and complex urban transportation hubs. At every scale and project type, his work has focused on contributing to the larger context and creating unique urban places.

Our Perkins Eastman

Vijo collaborates across Perkins Eastman studios, bringing his approach to creating great public places to any and all project types.
