Associate Principal

"Architecture is often described as a balance of art and science. A successful building envelope is the combination of selecting durable materials for the desired aesthetic effect and specifying construction systems that deliver assured performance and a reliable service life.”

Ming learned English when he immigrated to America at age 9, but the international language of architecture made the most profound effect on the direction his life would take. It speaks across culture, time, and place, he says. “The architect’s means of expression is with materials, forms, scale, and light. These are the tools and lessons learned from years of practice.”

Since he began his career in the early 1990s, Ming has been fortunate to focus on each project’s exterior while learning from the best consultants in the industry. He has completed a wide range of building types and scales that include academic, commercial, institutional and corporate projects throughout the United States as well as Canada, China, South Korea, Singapore, Vietnam and Poland.

Our Perkins Eastman

As a member of Perkins Eastman’s Technical Resources Studio, Ming serves as a Building Enclosure Advisor, providing design and technical guidance across practice areas and studio locations. Once a client’s design vision and goals have been defined, Ming works with project teams on the selection of systems and assemblies, sourcing materials, and detailing wall systems appropriate for performance, geographic location, and budget. As a Quality Control Reviewer, Ming continues to monitor progress on design development and construction document phases to promote a successful project delivery.
