Ashkan benefits from a world of influence, having been born in Italy and raised in England and Iran. He came to the United States to study and pursue his career in architecture, getting an auspicious start during his master’s program at UCLA where he landed a part-time job working on the The Getty Center. After graduating, he moved to Washington, DC, to start his east-coast career, where he’s been working with commercial clients throughout the region since the 1990s. He thrives from working with great clients on interesting projects that make a mark on their urban fabric. “That brightens your outlook—and you always want to do more and more,” he says.
