LB is steeped in the business of Texas. From the time he received his degrees at Southern Methodist University and the University of Dallas, he’s built relationships across the state—and beyond—in the finance, mortgage, real estate, and development industries. He came to Perkins Eastman in 2022, bringing more than 30 years of experience in the commercial real-estate and AEC industries to help the firm build a greater portfolio in Texas and other geographies outside of its footholds on the east and west coasts. The key to his success in securing new business, LB says, is creativity. “You go left, I’m going to go right. That’s the sign of an entrepreneur.” Equally important is earning—and maintaining—trust among the firm’s developer clients, he says. “I want them to sleep at night. When they have a problem, they can call me personally. I want to know where the problems are and how I can help.”
Our Perkins Eastman
Working from the Dallas studio, LB serves as a liaison between clients and the Perkins Eastman principals who oversee their design teams. He works across studios in business development and market strategy with a focus on the Hospitality, Residential, and Large-Scale Mixed-Use practice areas. Following a career-long practice, he continues to mentor young people to help them build their networking and business skills.
Outside of work, LB is an avid marathon runner and cross-country skier who yearly skis the European Alps. His lifelong passion for raising Dobermans began while he was pursuing post-graduate studies in Honolulu—and occasionally being around the set of the TV series Magnum P.I., where he spent time with the several Dobermans who played the show’s starring “Lads,” Zeus and Apollo.
