Kathryn values the positive impact design can have on local communities. While studying architecture at Mississippi State University, the state’s Gulf Coast was destroyed by Hurricane Katrina, which prompted her to volunteer with the Gulf Coast Community Design Center to help rebuild more resilient communities.  This experience set the foundation for her career and guided her journey as an architect. Along with her team, Kathryn enjoys providing a platform for clients and other stakeholders to share their challenges and needs. What follows is an immensely rewarding collaboration to find creative and cost-effective solutions, and watching the designs come to life through the construction process is the icing on the cake. Kathryn wears many hats within her studio. Not only does she excel at project management, overseeing multiple projects at different phases, she is also an experienced project architect. Throughout her many years of practice, Kathryn has successfully guided projects of all scales from their initial conception to final construction—a process that frequently includes navigating multiple governing-authority reviews at the city, county, and state levels.

Kathryn enjoys fostering a studio culture that encourages mentorship, inclusivity, creativity, and high-quality work, all while having fun!  She serves as one of four firm-wide leaders on the Women’s Leadership Initiative, a group that strives to advance women’s leadership, build equity, and cultivate opportunities for women at all levels of the company.
