On May 9, 2022, Perkins Eastman joined the University of Illinois Foundation (UIF) to break ground on a new building that will serve as an innovative philanthropic space for the University of Illinois and its three campuses in Urbana-Champaign, Chicago, and Springfield. Designed by Perkins Eastman in collaboration with Berglund Construction and Project Management Advisors, the new 60,000 sf building will bring UIF staff together in a single location in Champaign.
“We are proud to be the architect for the new University of Illinois Foundation building, a vital component in establishing the campus architecture for the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign Research Park extension,” says Perkins Eastman Principal Jerry Walleck, AIA. “The new building unites all elements of the foundation under one roof, providing visual connections to nature, ample daylight, and a variety of workspaces that support UIF’s diverse, inclusive, and hybrid work environment.”
