Associate Principal

"Successful senior living projects happen when we consider all of the users in the spaces we design. We strive to remember that most occupants of these buildings will spend the majority of their day living out their lives in the spaces we create."

Arch has worked in Senior Living at Perkins Eastman for more than twenty-five years, and has found great satisfaction in making a positive impact on the care and well-being of older people. Creating communities, buildings, and meaningful outdoor open spaces inspires him to work with clients to create the best places possible. These designs are rooted in the region and mission of the organization, and in the case of the firm’s international work, the culture and climate of the place. Great senior living projects are only possible by understanding these influences through a dialogue with the client and the occupants of these places, including residents, staff, and visitors.

Arch’s best designs come through collaboration between his team and all of these stakeholders. The greatest compliment he and his team can receive is when clients say they “got them.”

Arch comes to this job with a background in planning and master-plan design. He’s skilled at incorporating connections between the programmed spaces of the community or building; creating the connections between indoor and outdoor locations; working to include all residents, regardless of physical capabilities; and designing to find the opportunities inherent in the project’s location and climate.

Our Perkins Eastman

Arch participates in a number of creative planning projects with several different project teams at Perkins Eastman, typically at the beginning phases of a project’s master planning and concept design. His work includes programming, site design, and building design, all the way to residence and amenity space design.
