Associate Principal

“Having grown up in New York City, I was exposed at an early age to the city’s art and architectural legacy, which inspired me to go to architecture school and start my path to where I am today. I love that as an architect and planner, my work directly impacts the city landscape and has given me the opportunity to boost the well-being of my own community as well as the world at large. With healthcare design, it is highly rewarding to collaborate directly with the stakeholders to implement the newest diagnostic and treatment advances while providing sustainable spaces that support healing.”

Kathleen joined Perkin Eastman over sixteen years ago with a background in commercial, residential and institutional projects, but she already had begun specializing in healthcare design on a series of new ambulatory care projects in the South Bronx.

Since joining Perkins Eastman’s Healthcare practice, Kathleen has focused on design projects in New York, domestically and abroad where hospitals are trying to rebrand themselves. Kathleen aims to help them accomplish their goals by breaking down the institutional feel of their facilities. As a senior medical planner, she’s also developed projects with the latest technological advances in ambulatory care, cardiac care, cancer care, patient accommodations, surgical suites, diagnostic imaging, and interventional radiology.

My Perkins Eastman

As a medical planner, Kathleen works with integrated design teams to blend architectural design sensibility with the engineering and technological complexities of the modern urban hospital, bringing a logical and thoughtful approach to complex healthcare programs.
