A new Pioneer PBS video celebrates the news that Minnesota will soon have three new veterans’ homes for retired service members. Located in Montevideo, Bemidji, and Preston, MN, these Perkins Eastman-designed homes will offer care, amenities, and gathering spaces for community events and intergenerational living.
Following the “Small House” model instilled by the Veteran’s Health Administration, Perkins Eastman leads design transformations at state and federal veterans’ homes and veterans’ resident-care campuses across the country. This breadth of knowledge and expertise has contributed to more than 45,000 healthcare beds over the firm’s 40-year history.
“We are inspired by the Minnesota Department of Veterans Affairs’ commitment to veterans throughout the state by building these three new homes. Our team has enjoyed getting to know the people of each area and working with them to design homes that represent the individual cultures and regions of Montevideo, Preston, and Bemidji.” – Jerry Walleck, AIA, Managing Principal for Perkins Eastman
