J. David Hoglund

FAIA, LEED AP

Principal

“Design offers the opportunity to elevate the human experience by impacting sensory interaction, inspiring the soul, and lifting one’s quality of life.”

At 5 years old, David created building after building from shoe boxes, Popsicle sticks, and glue. David later dove into studying architecture, realizing that he cared equally about the way it impacted the users as the way it looked. His keen interest in the idea that design could impact people who live on life’s fragile edge fed a passion that led him to become a global leader in senior care design over a span of thirty-five years. Simultaneously, David taught a course on Planning and Design for a New Generation of Seniors at Harvard’s Graduate School of Design for 15 years. He guest teaches at the University of Southern California, when he isn’t co-authoring books and white papers. David leads by example and is a mentor to many.
