AIGA Headquarters

AIGA Headquarters

New York, NY

An imaginative new space in a historic New York City building serves as an emblem for design professionals.

Located in the iconic Woolworth Building, the new American Institute of Graphic Design headquarters symbolizes the professional association’s evolution at the forefront of design advocacy. Functioning as workplace, gallery, resource center, and event space, the Perkins Eastman-designed HQ fosters collaboration among staff and serves as a hub for the organization’s thousands of members. With adaptive interventions and highlights of key elements of the original neo-Gothic structure, the sustainable, elegant design serves many purposes. Drawing visitors into the space, a three-dimensional glass installation, designed in collaboration with graphic artist Stephen Doyle, features a historic hand-carved logo, connecting AIGA’s past and present and signaling its forward momentum.
