Looking toward the future of mental health, The New York State Psychiatric Institute combines out-patient and in-patient hospital care for the mentally ill with clinical research, post-doctoral education, and major laboratory programs. Perkin Eastman’s multi-phase renovation project of the Kolb Research Building fosters discoveries regarding the cause and treatment of mental illness and support the study of psychiatry and neuroscience. Upgraded research, teaching, and administrative spaces on multiple floors replace outdated facilities to meet best design practices and safety standards.  The sustainable state-of-the-art renovation is intended to enhance recruitment efforts for the Institute, drawing top talent looking to solve some of medicine’s most complex issues.
