Susan grew up in the presence of great design—literally. As a child, she went to the architecturally significant Crow Island Elementary School in Winnetka, IL, designed by Lawrence Perkins, the father of Perkins Eastman Co-Founder and Chairman Brad Perkins. Her family then moved to New Canaan, CT, settling into a home just down the street from Philip Johnson’s famed Glass House. Since earning degrees in English literature and art history, she’s worked as a marketing professional exclusively for architecture firms—big and small, east coast and west coast. “The profession really married my skill sets, which are writing and communication, and highlights my love of great design,” she says.
Susan joined Perkins Eastman in 2021, where she serves as marketing manager for the Los Angeles studio. She leads the studio’s marketing efforts, providing expertise in positioning the firm’s work in L.A. and along the west coast, and crafting narratives for new-project pursuits. “Working with my team is truly the most rewarding aspect of my role – I am grateful for the passion and enthusiasm of everyone in the office,” she says.
