The renovation and addition of the A.A. Lemieux Library improves and significantly expands the existing 1966 facility, while accommodating a host of new services. The building features media development services, tutoring centers, distance learning, instructional design and multi-media instruction, 24/7 study areas, interactive classrooms, special collections, and a vibrant café with terrace seating. Its design seamlessly integrates the old with the new. Moreover, the expansion joins the student center, shaping a new public space that anchors the west end of campus, making it a popular destination. In addition, a combination of hardscape and softscape provides a student gathering space while also capturing rainwater in a large bio-swale, creating an inspirational rain garden while demonstrating the university’s commitment to sustainability.
This project was renovated and expanded by Pfeiffer prior to joining Perkins Eastman.
