Matching a curriculum based on high academic standards, self-directed learning, collaboration, and global citizenship, Perkins Eastman’s design for Avenues: The World School’s inaugural New York City location draws on the city surrounding it. A historic warehouse transformed into a 10-story educational campus overlooking the High Line, the school connects to the world beyond its walls. The building fosters relationships among students from pre-K through 12th grade. All spaces are educational and advance learning in multiple ways, with corridors containing breakout areas and digital displays throughout.
While Perkins Eastman was working on this project, its Frank studio for experiential graphic design handled the signage and graphics. Read more about that related work here.
