An architectural Swiss Army knife with a balance of design sensitivity, technical chops, and business leadership, Nate has delivered complex, award-winning buildings in an unusually broad range of types. He is often the first one in and last one out on our projects, co-locating with clients and contractors during critical stages to develop ideas and programs into creative and practical diagrams, designs, and details. He was instrumental in the design of the Michelson Center for Physics and has worked extensively with the University of Chicago to position its historic campus for the next century of teaching and advanced research. He seeks to create warm, light-filled interiors and durable, high-performance building enclosures with connected indoor-outdoor space. Nate is the “plant guy” for our Chicago office and he occasionally DJs our office happy hours.
