The RWJBarnabas Health Athletic Performance Center, currently under construction and slated for completion in 2019, is set to transform the student-athlete experience at Rutgers University. Totaling 307,000 SF, the four-story building will provide an elite-level practice facility for Men’s & Women’s Basketball, Wrestling, and Gymnastics, in addition to an expanded health and wellness program for all university athletes and the surrounding communities. The facility will complete the Rutgers Athletics Quadrangle and Plaza in the heart of the Livingston Campus, integrating existing pedestrian routes and linking the academic campus with the athletic fields to the west. The RWJBarnabas Clinical Exam facilities will provide sports medicine support with dedicated athletic trainers, physical therapists, sports medicine physicians, orthopedic surgeons, sports psychologists, psychiatrists and other behavioral health specialists, sports performance specialists, and nutritional experts. In addition, the facility will feature a full-service training table and dining facilities, extensive strength & conditioning space, hydrotherapy, WNBA and NBA VIP viewing suites, new offices for athletic department administration and coaches, lockers, a ‘Closing/Donor’ room, Rutgers Hall-of-Fame, and a spirit shop.
