Rutgers University: Marco Battaglia Football Practice Complex

Piscataway Township, New Jersey
The first project completed as a part of the Rutgers University ‘R BIG TEN BUILD’ campaign, the Marco Battaglia Football Practice Complex provides the Rutgers football program with one of the best outdoor practice facilities in the country. The 8.4 acre site includes four new playing fields – one synthetic field, one partial synthetic field, and two natural fields featuring a Kentucky Bluegrass mix with a state-of-the-art irrigation system that can drain over 385,000 gallons (or 5 inches) of water per hour. Spanning the width of a football field, a new 6,400 sf pavilion provides space for sports medicine support, storage, and new bathrooms. In addition, the project included aesthetic upgrades to the exterior entrance and surrounding façade, two new 54-foot film towers, two scoreboards, and a new LED video board.
