Godrej: Meher at Altamont

Mumbai, India
The existing residential community located in the heart of the city is being redeveloped into a luxury residential twin tower project. It consists of a 1000 car park garage, 277 residential units, amenities and support facilities.

Our design proposes to retain and enhance the essence of what makes life at Meher. It has been our goal to create an environment that is specifically about this place, its history and its people. The connection with the trees, sun and sky, the sense of security, the feeling of community and most importantly the address from Altamont Road have not been lost.

The apartments have been designed to ensure cross ventilation and light in every nook, providing ample utility areas that are distinct and separate from the rest of the house and opening out every room to spectacular views of the ocean.

The Central Public Realm is kept free of cars at all times. Care has been taken to ensure that no car crosses the path of a child running towards his/her playground in the grange, a series of terraced gardens that has vegetable beds, walking paths and yoga pavilions located in the shade of lush rain trees. In order to do so, all car movement has been distinctly separated from pedestrian movement.

The lobbies with concierge facilities are generous and ideal to host art exhibitions. Floor 15 is entirely dedicated to the clubhouse with gymnasium, fitness room and spa facilities. Each tower has a swimming pool overlooking the ocean. A bridge connection between the two towers creates one seamless clubhouse level and wine bar on the floors above offer lounge facilities for residents to have smaller gatherings of their own.
