White Plains Hospital: Center for Cancer Care

White Plains, New York
White Plains Hospital is in the midst of an evolution from a community hospital to the “’Hospital of the Future”—a hub for advanced care in the region and the heart of Montefiore Health System’s growing Hudson Valley network. Perkins Eastman has been working with WPH on several different projects that together transform its facilities to state-of-the-art centers of health and wellness for the surrounding community.

The Center for Cancer Care project is an expansion of the cancer care program at White Plains Hospital through a new six-story building connected at three levels to the existing building, which has been fully renovated as a part of this project’s 55,000 sf scope, creating a seamless experience between the two buildings.

A new two-story glass lobby entrance and building façade welcomes patients to the Center, which features renovated infusion space including 16 private and 18 communal infusion bays; new physician office space; and a full-service cancer program that includes a boutique/retail space, prosthetic fitting, complementary therapy, café, conference room, blood draw/lab, and patient resource areas. Perkins Eastman is responsible for the planning, programming, and interior design of the renovation and expansion program and the interior architecture of the infusion bays, while Posen Architects is the Architect of Record for the overall new building.
