Colegio Franklin Delano Roosevelt

Lima, Peru
Colegio Franklin Delano Roosevelt (FDR), The American School of Lima, is an independent international school for 1,500 students from age 3 through grade 12. The official school of the U.S. State Department Office of Overseas Education in Peru, the campus serves an international community, as well as host country nationals seeking a North American-style of education.

Perkins Eastman developed a long range master plan for the 9.3 hectare campus, which includes a full facilities audit of the existing campus.

Perkins Eastman led the various stakeholders and user groups through a step-by-step, consensus-building process including programming workshops and visioning sessions to identify space needs and opportunities for improved facility support. The Masterplan celebrates the campus’ long-standing history in Lima while incorporating necessary and forward-looking improvements to the existing buildings and proposing 21st century options for new buildings to replace aging construction.

Perkins Eastman has designed the School’s ‘Phase 1’ projects: a state-of-art Student Commons and Cafeteria that will serve the Middle and High School; as well as a brand new Elementary School.
