Pepperidge Farm

Norwalk, Connecticut
Based on the growth and expansion of its product lines and offerings, Pepperidge Farm needed to expand its corporate headquarters to better support business activities and meet market expectations. Understanding that a major expansion and renovation of their existing corporate headquarters was an opportunity to reflect on their culture and reposition their work environment to support future needs, Pepperidge Farm sought out the expertise of Perkins Eastman’s Workplace Consulting Team. Perkins Eastman was engaged to provide a cross-organization study focused on space utilization, cultural alignment analysis, brand innovation, and collaboration.

Over several months, Perkins Eastman’s Workplace Consulting Team engaged Pepperidge Farm’s senior leadership, key staff, and entire population in a series of surveys, workshops, and one-on-one meetings to develop workplace strategies and real estate guidelines to be used in the design of the new architecture and interiors.

The project included rebranding of the Pepperidge Farm’s corporate headquarters exterior that includes the addition of a new 40,000 sf Innovation Center building to house test kitchens, a “broadcast-type” culinary demonstration kitchen, and executive meeting and strategy spaces. It also involved the complete renovation of the existing 80,000 sf interiors including new cafeteria and dining for Pepperidge Farm’s workplace of the future.

The interior renovation also brought the headquarters up to date with new furniture standards and infrastructure. Services being provided are workplace consulting, architectural design for the new building, exterior skin replacement, full architectural interiors, branding, project management, new cafeteria design, and furniture selection management.
