107th Police Precinct

Flushing, New York
The 107th Police Precinct contains the typical functions of a New York City police station as well as the offices of the Borough Patrol Command for Queens. The project included providing on-site parking as well as dedicated community spaces.

Design of the facility was influenced by the functional realities of the program and by the style of the utilitarian modernist buildings, prewar public housing and post-war shopping center surrounding it.

The 107th Police Precinct has received numerous awards, including the 1994 New York State AIA’s Award for Excellence in Design, the 1995 AIA/Brick Institute of America’s Award of Excellence, and First Prize for Excellence in Design in the Queens Chamber of Commerce’s 67th Annual Building Awards Competition. The project was also featured in the March 1994 issue of Architectural Record.
