GE Energy Financial Services

Stamford, Connecticut
General Electric’s Energy Financial Services Division is celebrated for its innovation in providing alternative energy sources for the United States and abroad. Its 280,000 sf headquarters relocation reflects this innovation by providing opportunities for consistent interaction between its team members. To better foster this interaction, the CEO made a decision to change the work environment from 90% office to a workplace with a 70% open plan. To support this planning approach, the design prioritized opportunities for collaboration; in addition to formal conference rooms, a visitor conference center, smaller huddle rooms, and a GE "living room" in the center of each floor encourage this dialogue.

As a purveyor of alternative energy strategies, the project crucially incorporates leading environmental initiatives. To this end, the building achieved LEED Gold certification for its use of sustainable products, lighting efficiencies, and other environmental practices.

The culture and brand of GE’s Energy Financial Services division is reflected in both static and interactive branding elements, including touch screens and digital signage systems designed by C & G Partners.
