Marriott Renaissance: Alexandria Hotel
The Marriott Renaissance Alexandria Hotel, a well-known hotel in a prominent location along the cornice in historic Alexandria, Egypt, underwent a significant renovation and repositioning. The renovation, comprising both architecture and interior design, involved a complete rehabilitation of the hotel—from restaurants to the back-of-house, from the exterior facade to the guestrooms.
The renovation included the design of food and beverage, private guestrooms, and public amenities—specifically 157 guestrooms and suites, a ballroom, meeting rooms, brasserie and jazz bar, Italian restaurant, Viennese café, spa/health club, outdoor pool and grill, and all the necessary support spaces. A consistent theme in decor and program evoke the concept of modern Alexandria, which was built upon a history of civilizations and cultures that have made this city the “Queen of the Mediterranean.”
This project was completed under the direction of Principals of Perkins Eastman while with Basler Mosa Design Group.
