Avenues The World School: New York

New York, New York
This innovative 200,000 sf school brings together 1,500 students from grades pre-K through grade 12 to experience a new model for learning. Located on Tenth Avenue on the west side of Manhattan and adjacent to The High Line, the facility is designed to match a curriculum centered on the core values of high academic standards, self-directed learning, collaboration, and global citizenship.

The ten-floor vertical campus, constructed in an historic building originally designed by Cass Gilbert, is organized with maximum space efficiencies and collaborative learning as programmatic priorities. The first and third floors house common and shared spaces, while the higher floors are organized by grade clusters, each on dedicated floors. The second floor is dedicated to the pre-K program with a separate entrance from 26th Street.

The lower school is located on floors 4-6 with the upper school on floors 7-10. The fitness facilities are located on the ninth floor directly under the gymnasium on the top floor.
