“BIM as a Master Planning Tool”

BIM’s ability to record and organize detailed space inventory databases is a valuable tool for accurate analysis of large amounts of information. The benefits of BIM modeling extend long after the master planning process to help measure successful project implementation. Albright will be joined by William Herrmann, Capital Program Manager for SUNY Maritime College and Lachlan Squair, Capital Program Management for State University Construction Fund. “A Team Approach to Project Development”

Value added project management requires a pragmatic, measured approach that integrates the roles and responsibilities of multiple disciplines in a coordinated effort. Very often this role is designated to a third-party; but with organizations seeking both greater control over significant projects and cost savings, they are more frequently fulfilling the role of Project Manager. In this session, participants will gain a fundamental understanding of how the Project Development Team approach differs from traditional Project Management approaches; examine and understand the critical role your organization must play in the Project Development Team approach; and learn how to assess and evaluate whether the PDT approach is right for your organization. This session is presented by Scot Park a member with Dixon Hughes. Hoglund will be joined by Keith Myers, president and CEO of MorseLife.

“Embracing Online Team Spaces – Fun, Freedom, and Functionality”

In the aftermath of the 2008 financial crisis most of us have observed—if not experienced–a wave of low morale. Teams have been reduced and fragmented, often becoming overworked and overstressed. In this session we will explore how we can best partner with users and stakeholders alike to develop new online collaboration spaces at a time when uncertainty is high, and budgets are at a minimum. We will talk about finding out what the teams want, what the firms want, how to balance the two and whether they the same. We will examine how Web 2.0 can fit into this paradox by providing fun, freedom, and functionality. Learn more about this conference on their Web site.

The principals, architects, and business leaders of Perkins Eastman speak at a variety of conferences, roundtables, and industry summits. We look forward to learning more about your event and how we can contribute. Click here to email us.
