Case Study 2:

Kendal Design Guidelines

The Problem

The Kendal Corporation was interested in undertaking post-occupancy evaluations (POEs) for two of its newest facilities to create a summary of lessons learned. These findings would then be used to inform decision-making during the process of planning and designing future facilities (renovation and/or new construction). However, Perkins Eastman Strategies saw an opportunity to provide a value-add: We evolved the POE process and final product to take advantage of Kendal’s history in terms of lessons learned, developing a set of Design Guidelines that identify the key characteristics of a Kendal community.
