The Problem

The Felician Sisters faced a dilemma: an aging population and physical plant, declining income and increasing expenses, and the desire to leave a legacy. Perkins Eastman redesigned their building to support healthy aging, provided a plan of action and an environment that responded to their shrinking population, and applied sustainable design principles that extend beyond the now LEED® -NC Gold certified building to the surrounding landscape. By working hand-in-hand with the Sisters, Perkins Eastman helped them uphold their mission and home, while keeping an eye to the future.
