Case Study 1:
Boehringer Ingelheim: Post-Occupancy EvaluationsRidgefield, Connecticut
Boehringer Ingelheim Pharmaceuticals, Inc. has been working with Perkins Eastman on a three-year multi-phased renovation of their corporate offices. This project aims to transform their former traditional office space into a “Workplace of the Future.” In Phases 2 and 3, the project moved beyond the IT Department (that had been amenable to the mobile workplace concept right away) to the Finance, Purchasing, and Revenue Ops departments, each of which had expressed concerns about their ability to perform in the new workplace. From the project’s inception, we knew that successful implementation and reception of Phases 2 and 3 were critical for the project’s momentum, as they set the tone for subsequent phases that would include executives, marketing teams, medical departments, legal, and human resources personnel throughout the rest of the company.
